Julia Adler-Milstein's work earned her the Early to Mid-Career Impact Accelerator Award from the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation in 2015.
Assistant professor Julia Adler-Milstein has received the 2015 Early to Mid-Career Impact Accelerator Award from the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI). She was recognized for her outstanding contributions to health policy and practice through her work on electronic health records and health information exchanges.
Among her accomplishments cited were the national impact of her research on policy and organizational determinants of health information technology adoption and its impact on the quality and cost of health care. She has testified before the U.S. Senate’s HELP committee and was asked to join a national task force on Clinical, Technical, Organizational and Financial Barriers to Interoperability organized by the Office of the National Coordinator. The task force recently submitted its findings in a report to Congress.
“We salute Assistant Professor Adler-Milstein for her contributions and for her continued engagement with policymakers, researchers, educators, clinicians and patients to advance health care and policy and practice,” said the leadership of the IHPI, in announcing this honor.
The award was presented at the IHPI Annual Member Forum in November 2015.
